Dude, this sounds really bad, and that statement from Maya was especially devastating. We have a whole bunch of ‘establishment’ people who are all pushing the same narrative versus a homeless indigent single mother with a lot of problems. Yes, there are several highly questionable actions taken by the Stokers, but even if everything they are saying about Selena are lies, the court may very well believe them simply because they are rich and thus may forgive them their trespasses out of ‘concern’ for the kids, however misplaced. And as far as that goes: If Selena has never been diagnosed, then how do they get away with attesting to her ‘mental illness’ in court papers? And doesn’t that Kurtz guy from New Jersey have to actually testify and be cross examined before entering his statement into the record?
It does sound really bad…if you accept the narrative orchestrated by the Stokers. Notice the last name Maya (and Chad) uses. Their given birth name was ‘Smith’. What you’re seeing is the result of decades of parental and familial alienation. I agree Maya’s declaration, taken only at face value, is devastating and the most powerful of the declarations the Stokers filed.
I predicted this in a scathing e-mail I sent my daughter less than a year ago. She has asked her friends how I could be so prescient. The answer is I know Kathryn Stoker (my ex) and children that well! Selena is now experiencing the same pattern of parental and familial alienation she witnessed and recalls me experiencing at the hands of the same woman–straight up. Please note that whatever failings my daughter had were ignored by the Stokers so long as they could control her with their money and emasculation of my daughter. There are errors in my granddaughter’s narrative, but more to the point, the Stokers abided through decades of my daughter’s coming of age until…UNTIL she rejected being a prisoner held in a gilded cage and left with the children. Consider how much Selena must have suffered in that cage to reject the million$ she stood to inherit (and was receiving, e.g. $2,500/mo. FMV rental value in the Stokers 5 bed, 4 bath guest home rent free on their 5 million dollar waterfront estate located in Thurston’s Nisqually reach for starters) along with the injury to her self esteem when she lost her right hand. Most of the homeless are so not by choice, but by drug addiction, poverty, mental illness, or the freedom to follow the wind. Selena was none of those. She chose homelessness over oppression–oppression which was devouring her soul even while it was killing her.
The Stokers base their case on 3 main arguments they allege to have the court label my daughter as an unfit mother.
1. Foremost, they allege my daughter is mentally ill to anyone who will listen, including Selena and myself. They have pursued this false narrative for decades, convincing at least themselves and their inner circle financially beholding to them. They have been able to dominate this false narrative with their wealth for so long its constant drumbeat is accepted as gospel by those on the money train.. It’s not true. I have spent hundreds of hours speaking with my daughter. She may be many things, but mentally ill is not one of them. I would know if she was. MY DAUGHTER IS NOT MENTALLY ILL. The Stokers are gaslighting the court, my daughter, and anyone who will listen to them and their money. They’ve done so for decades.
2. The Stokers allege my daughter has been a perpetrator of DV. What they don’t point out is my daughter was (and has been found by a court of law for whatever that’s worth) a victim of DV due, primarily, to her inferior choice of men, their violence (I have witnessed it) and her instinct to protect herself and children with her one remaining hand.
The Stokers are set on seeking out any dingleberry they can find to damn Selena and justify stealing her children. Kathryn Stoker has been obsessively/hysterically possessive her entire life so long as I’ve known her, driven by materialism and hubris. The Stokers are mum about their own alcoholism and addiction to prescription pills. Selena has not denied she assaulted Han Stoker, something I’d rather have done myself. I’m not surprised. I don’t know the details, but I imagine he had it coming. Selena was a battered woman and Hans Stoker had a hand in that.In reviewing this exchange to Dana with Selena, she provided details to me in a phone recording (with her permission) of her fear of Hans prompted by her threatening/attempting to assault her on at leat two occasions. One one occasion, her boyfriend, James Wells, and her mother, Kathryn Stoker had to hold down the drunker Hans Stoker to prevent him from hitting my daughter with his fists. It was on this occasion when Hans said, “Just remember where your bread is buttered, Selena.” When Selena retorted, “I butter my own bread,” he lunged at her forcing Jim and Kathy to hold him down so he wouldn’t injure Selena and the newborn baby she was nursing. The other referenced occasion was a result of Hans Stoker’s angry threatening demeanor, flushed face, and clinched fists while yelling at Selena that she shouldn’t be using her mother’s car to visit Selena’s oldest daughter, Maya, in Ellensburg, WA. despite Kathy and Selena’s agreement to this arrangement. Selena had good reaszon to fear Hans and act in self defense to push him away in self defense when he was threatening her–a one handed mother with 3-children who had just been assaulted by her alcoholic boyfriend, James, minutes before.
3. The Stokers try to paint my daughter as negligent and a slob–ignoring her children’s education and medical needs. I have seen or am aware of some instances of that, but the Stoker’s narrative grossly exaggerates it. They bridle at my daughter’s failure to keep dental appointments Kathy made for the children without consulting Selena, Hazel in particular. Selena wants to make her own appointments. She wants to parent her own children. Admittedly, refusing the Stoker’s largess–the bait on the end of their hook–makes that more difficult, but accepting made it impossible. The Stokers have reproached my daughter for not being more like them. They allege she would be a more perfect parent if she were. She wants to be nothing like them. They resent her for it. Few have walked away from or scorned their money, but Kathy’s own younger brother, Thomas Warren, and his wife, Diane, are an exception. They refuse to speak to the Stokers after they alienated Tom and Diane’s 2 daughters from them utilizing their wealth to do so. Tom and Diane are quite poor, much like Selena. Children are not oblivious to where the money is. One of the two girls later committed suicide.
The truth is, the Stokers are toxic to parents and extended families alike, alienating the affections of Tom’s 2 daughters until one of them committed suicide. Tom and his wife refuse to speak to the Stokers. Selena admits she was gulled by the Stokers’ narrative when contributing to my own parental alienation while she was in their household as a child. Amy, Selena’s best girlhood friend, confirms this from her own recollection while visiting the Stoker household. The litany and drumbeat of parental alienation continues unabated, destroying the relationship every day it goes on with Selena’s 3 very young children.
Needless to say, Selena is distraught–an understatement to be sure. The fact is, the Stokers did everything to enable Selena’s financial and emotional dependence on them, but little to encourage her independence. Their smothering nearly proved fatal. Even distance was no barrier to their controlling Selena’s life with their wealth. Selena’s story might as well be taken out of a chapter from King Midas.
You ask how this could have come about in a court of law if there was no substance to it. Well, the other deadly prong of the Stokers’ strategy is the corruption and incompetence in the Family Court system across the nation. An expert analysis of the problem reveals the following comment on it:
Parents have been so abused by these courts for so long with no hope that this has become what they think is their last resort. [Removal to the federal court] The family courts skip proper due process in their proceedings and jump right to punishment hearings without proper adjudication, leaving the parents desperate, helpless, and hopeless. Many of these parents are facing punishments for things that the state court created. This was out of each of these parent’s control. They have been powerless for so long that they have become desperate to be heard. They become vulnerable to just about anything they think might provide them with some relief. Federal removal for child custody constitutional association violations does not provide relief, but instead increases risks and creates disadvantages for parents already practically driven to suicide.
The initial Thurston Family Court ex parte emergency petition for a guardianship of minors order (5-27-21) executed at midnight (5-30-21) in a foreign state (Oregon) filing by the Stokers was void ab initio for want of proper jurisdiction and due process (lack of judicial oversight in Oregon where the children and Selena both lawfully resided and were domiciled). Kathy spent her career as a programmer for the WA Administrator for the Courts while Hans used his wealth to buy influence among right wing political reactionaries, lawyers, and judges. e.g. Two out of the four Thurston Family Court commissioners (Kortokrax and Brandt) recused themselves for conflicts of interest. They had been paid in the past and/or were heavily embedded/familiar with the Stokers, but not (in Kortokrax’s case) before he entered a ruling upholding the unlawful seizure of my daughter’s children under cover of darkness (like Selena was Dillinger) based on the deceptions and disassembly they presented to the court in their initial filing. The rest of the Stokers’ orchestrated scurrilous diatribes from the dysfunctional Stoker clan were filed much later, shortly before 6-16-21. The train wreck you’re seeing is the bodies of a family destroyed by the calculated machinations and corruption introduced into the incompetent Thurston Family Court commissioners’ courtrooms by the Stokers .
Kathryn Stoker lied to me about this case from the start. She told me the next court date was 6-18-21 when it was, in fact, 6-16-21. She said she and her husband had received a call around Midnight like lightning out of the dark from the police in Oakridge, Oregon asking how their night driving skills were and stating the police had seized the grandchildren, but would place them in foster home custody if the Stokers didn’t arrive promptly to allow the authorities in that venue to transfer the children to the Stokers, aiding and abetting this kidnapping in the process with NO Oregon court oversight or protection. Kathy lied to me as revealed by the date of the ex parte emergency petition filed by the Stokers in Thurston Family Court closely coordinated with the New Jersey CPS security guard, Robert Kortokrax arising from an incident in Brooklawn, NJ (contrary to the false Declaration of Hans Stoker who misrepresented to the court it was Camden, NJ, the 10th most dangerous city in the U.S. according to him) where my daughter spent 5 days when her vehicle broke down there until she could replace it.
The ex parte emergency petition was granted by the Thurston Family (?!) Court based on material lies and deception. There was no emergency. Selena had been tracked by her mother and NJ security guard Robert Kurtz across the country through Selena’s unwitting use of the I-Phone her mother had purchased for her.
The Oakridge, OR. police who seized the children observed no emergency or harm to the grandchildren. They took photos, filed a report, wore body cams, and notified Selena they were doing so. The Stokers lied to the Thurston Court when they averred the children had resided in Washington less than 6 months ago–a critical and material deception.
The Stokers claimed there was a nationwide manhunt, as though my daughter was Dillinger, when it was nothing more than NJ security guard Robert Kurtz and Kathryn Stoker invading my daughter’s privacy, spying on her through her I-Phone, rifling through her private papers and opening her mail without her permission. This was a material falsehood, but even were it true, there was no court of original jurisdiction case regarding the children in Washington. The Stokers even sought to seal their Declarations to avoid detection of their fraud upon the court or public scrutiny. The proper jurisdiction to determine if there was immediate risk of irrevocable harm to the children pursuant to an ex parte emergency petition like this one was Oregon.
The Stokers had no legal standing. There were no visitation, custody, or other rights bestowed upon the Stokers by a Washington Court ever! Incompetence is as pernicious as corruption, especially in the courts and public sector. No case could better illustrate that maxim than this one.
