Media in the U.S. has censored a recent globally hailed\u00a0interview with former NSA contractor whistleblower Edward Snowden, provided in the YouTube video below.<\/p>\n

Last\u00a0Sunday evening,\u00a0Snowden was\u00a0interviewed by a\u00a0German television network ARD.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe interview has been intentionally blocked from the US public, with virtually no major broadcast news outlets covering this story,\u201d\u00a0says\u00a0Jay Syrmopoulos for Truth In Media<\/a>. \u201cIn addition, the video has been taken down almost immediately every time it\u2019s posted on YouTube.\u201d<\/p>\n

The interview, according to Truth In Media, was treated as a major political event in print and broadcast media, in Germany\u00a0and the rest of the world.<\/p>\n

In the interview, Mr. Snowden lays out a succinct case as to how these domestic surveillance programs undermine and erode human rights and democratic freedom.<\/p>\n

Clapper\u00a0lies to the world,\u00a0threatens\u00a0reporters<\/strong><\/p>\n

He stated his tipping point was when\u00a0\u201cseeing Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, directly\u00a0\u00a0lie under oath<\/a>\u00a0to Congress\u201d denying the existence of a domestic spying programs while under questioning in March of last year.<\/p>\n

Under oath, Clapper said the government did \u201cnot wittingly\u201d collect data on millions of Americans, a blatant lie for which he later\u00a0apologized to the panel,\u00a0changed\u00a0his story and tried to justify his lie.<\/p>\n

Last week, Clapper called\u00a0for\u00a0\u201cSnowden and his accomplices\u201d to return documents Snowden\u00a0took from a contractor for NSA, Booze Allen,\u00a0to minimize what Clapper called\u00a0the \u201cprofound damage that his disclosures have caused and continued to cause.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snowden has repeatedly said he acted alone in assembling and leaking a vast trove of information on the scope of US surveillance efforts and even\u00a0NSA\u2019s official investigators agree with\u00a0this.<\/p>\n

Last week,\u00a0Clapper also called for retaliation against reporters who have published Snowden\u2019s leaks.<\/p>\n

Are citizen reporters and mainstream journalists really terrorst \u201caccomplices\u201d for reporting Snowden\u2019s leaks?\u00a0Are they\u00a0\u201dterrorists\u201d also\u00a0deserving\u00a0assassination, as Clapper and others believe Snowden is?<\/p>\n

When asked if journalists who possess leaked surveillance information counted in Clapper\u2019s definition of an \u201caccomplice\u201d, Clapper spokesman Shawn Turner stated:<\/p>\n

\u201cDirector Clapper was referring to\u00a0anyone who is assisting Edward Snowden to further threaten our national security through the unauthorized disclosure of stolen documents related to lawful foreign intelligence collection programs.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Turner declined to be more specific.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe public had a right to know about these programs,\u201d Snowden said. \u201cThe public had a right to know that which the government is doing in its name, and that which the government is doing against the public.\u201d<\/p>\n
