In particular, TCDD has been shown to be\u00a0<a title=\"Teratogenic\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Teratogenic\">teratogenic<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Mutagenic\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mutagenic\">mutagenic<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Carcinogenic\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carcinogenic\">carcinogenic<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Immunotoxic\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Immunotoxic\">immunotoxic<\/a>, and\u00a0<a title=\"Hepatotoxic\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hepatotoxic\">hepatotoxic<\/a>. Furthermore, alterations in multiple\u00a0<a title=\"Endocrine\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Endocrine\">endocrine<\/a> and\u00a0<a title=\"Growth factor\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Growth_factor\">growth factor<\/a> systems have been reported. effects in Vietnam<\/strong>: \u00a0US groups and Vietnamese groups,<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/amicuscuria.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/limblessPBP3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-440\" title=\"Tim &amp; Jay's Legacy\" src=\"http:\/\/amicuscuria.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/limblessPBP3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"530\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"http:\/\/amicuscuria.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/limblessPBP3.jpg 530w, http:\/\/amicuscuria.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/limblessPBP3-300x226.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>including the Vietnamese government, have convened scientific studies to explore their belief that dioxins were responsible for a host of disorders, including tens of thousands of birth defects in children, that have affected Vietnam veterans as well as an estimated one million Vietnamese, due to their exposure during the\u00a0Vietnam War to\u00a0Agent Orange, a defoliant chemical which was widely sprayed over Vietnamese land and which was found to be highly contaminated with TCDD. Several exposure studies showed that some US Vietnam Veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange had serum TCDD levels up to 600\u00a0ppt (parts per trillion) many years after they left Vietnam, compared to general population levels of approximately 1 to 2\u00a0ppt of TCDD. In Vietnam, TCDD levels up to 1,000,000\u00a0ppt have been found in soil and sediments from Agent Orange contaminated areas, three to four decades after spraying. In addition, elevated levels have been measured in food and wildlife in Vietnam.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a title=\"Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Centers_for_Disease_Control_and_Prevention\">Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a> found that dioxin levels in Vietnam veterans<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Polychlorinated_dibenzodioxins#cite_note-47\">[48]<\/a> were in no way atypical when compared against the rest of the population. The only exception existed for those who directly handled Agent Orange. These were members of\u00a0<a title=\"Operation Ranch Hand\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Operation_Ranch_Hand\">Operation Ranch Hand<\/a>. Tim&#39;s Legacy<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In 1978, dioxins were some of the contaminants that forced the evacuation of the\u00a0<a title=\"Love Canal\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Love_Canal\">Love Canal<\/a> neighborhood of\u00a0<a title=\"Niagara Falls, New York\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Niagara_Falls,_New_York\">Niagara Falls, New York<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From 1982 through to 1985,\u00a0<a title=\"Times Beach, Missouri\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Times_Beach,_Missouri\">Times Beach, Missouri<\/a>, was bought out and evacuated under order of the\u00a0<a title=\"United States Environmental Protection Agency\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_Environmental_Protection_Agency\">United States Environmental Protection Agency<\/a> due to high levels of dioxins in the soil caused by applications of contaminated water meant to control dust on the town&#8217;s dirt roads.<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Polychlorinated_dibenzodioxins#cite_note-60\">[61]<\/a> The town eventually disincorporated.<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Polychlorinated_dibenzodioxins#cite_note-61\">[62]<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_431\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/amicuscuria.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/toes21.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-431\" class=\"size-full wp-image-431\" title=\"Tim &amp;
