La Verne, a Grapeview resident, has been a sterling USPS carrier for many years. Though well liked, like all of us, she’s mortal. She has little health insurance through her employer. And though she rallied on previous occasions, this time is different as she faces a terminal illness that has metastasized. It’s unlikely she’ll be able to return to work and she’s in a lot of pain.
