Shelton, WA (5-7-15) —<\/strong> An accused Shelton burglar who allegedly broke into two residences, stealing a weapon last week, has been charged w\/burglary, theft, and unlawful possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n

Shelton police arrested the 33 year old Marcus D. Gerber on May 2 after an officer found a backpack containing stolen items from two separate burglaries, according to the department’s news release.<\/p>\n

On May 1 [2015], police say, Gerber allegedly broke into a residencce in the 400 block of Poplar Street in Shelton and stole a .22-caliber handgun, electronic devices along with a Superman belt buckle after gaining entry via a bedroom window.<\/p>\n

The next day, a tenant reported a burglary in the 700 block of West Pine Street, providing a description of the suspect, whom police say fled on foot.<\/p>\n

A Shelton Police officer located the suspect and arrested him in the 600 block of West Cedar Street, according to Les Watson of the department.<\/p>\n

Authorities say Gerber confessed to the crimes and led officers to the handgun’s location in a nearby alley.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gerber was booked into Mason County Jail on seven separate charges including 1st degree burglary, and theft of a firearm.<\/p>\n
