I have shrapnel in my head and legs, my ribs were broken, but all that didn&#8217;t stop me from fighting,&#8221; she said in the interview, lifting her headscarf to reveal several scars.\n\n\n\nUm Hanadi began fighting jihadists in 2004, she said, working with Iraqi forces and the coalition in the battle against al-Qaeda and later Isis.\n\n\n\nGeneral Jamaa Anad, commander of Iraqi ground forces in Salahuddin province, told CNN they had provided her group with vehicles and weapons.&nbsp;\n\n\n\n&#8220;She lost her brothers and husbands as martyrs,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So out of revenge she formed her own force.&#8221;\n\n\n\nIsis fighters are&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/middle-east\/isis-are-afraid-of-girls-kurdish-female-fighters-believe-they-have-an-unexpected-advantage-fighting-a6766776.html\">afraid of being killed by women<\/a>, according to female Kurdish soldiers, because they believe it means they won&#8217;t go to heaven.\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fQpKbQKHB9U\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
