\n\n\n\n\nWASHINGTON, D.C.<\/strong><\/em>\n\n\n\nPresident Donald Trump told reporters Saturday that he has been tested for the coronavirus, contradicting a White House statement late Friday that he would not take the test.\n\n\n\nTrump revealed the news during a briefing from the White House coronavirus task force. He said he has not yet gotten the results.\n\n\n\nTrump and Vice President Mike Pence spoke after a morning meeting of the Coronavirus Task Force<\/a>.\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n\nPence said a travel ban will be expanded to include the United Kingdom and Ireland starting Monday. Earlier this week, Trump announced a 30-day ban on travel from Europe to the United States.\n\n\n\nReporters had their temperatures taken before they were allowed into the White House briefing room. A fever is one of the symptoms of the COVID-19 disease, along with coughing and shortness of breath.\n\n\n\n\u201cOut of an abundance of caution, temperature checks are now being performed on any individuals who are in close contact with the President and Vice President,\u201d Judd Deere, deputy White House press secretary, said in a statement.\n\n\n\nTrump said that he, too, had his temperature taken. It was \u201ctotally normal,\u201d he said as he left the briefing. He declined to provide the exact degree.\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n\nOne journalist with a temperature above 100 degrees was turned away, Katie Moore, the vice president\u2019s press secretary, said on Twitter.\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n\nAccording to the White House Medical Unit, the temperature was taken three times over a 15 minute period – all three registered above the @CDCgov<\/a> 100.4 guidelines.\n\n\n\n\n
