Everybody/Public Welcome–certain restrictions apply
Two Mason County Candidates Forums will be held before the general election for 2012. On October 3, 2012 @ 6:00pm to 9:00pm the KMAS radio station will host those candidates running for Mason County offices, as well as those running for office in the 35th district, at the County Public Works facility located on Highway 101 just north of the turnoff to the Washington Correction Center (prison) near Shelton.
Jerri (one of the KMAS owners) advised no photography or audio would be permitted other than their own given they had paid to reserve the room. She was advised, in return, that no expectation of privacy attached to a venue where the public had been invited. The station will be delaying their reporting in deference to a national political debate.
KMAS will be hand selecting questions for the candidates from written submissions, as will the League of Women Voters for its 10/16/12 @ 6:30pm – 8:30pm forum in the Oakland Bay middle school facility (Tuesday). Unlike KMAS, recording at the League of Women Voters event will be permitted.
