Yeah, that thought occurred to me too. Essentially, profits are based on scarcity. Scarcity creates demand and, hence, increases the commodity’s value (and profit margin) in the marketplace. On the other hand, what incentive is there to produce goods and services without profit?…especially in a non-ruler system of non-government?
