The City of Shelton (gateway to industrial blight and the town that never had a bath) and Olympia have something in common: Both lock public bathrooms early in the evenings to avoid ‘attracting’ the homeless, then persecute them for relieving themselves in public spaces.
Even the poorest of nations have (a no brainer) public restroom facilities due to simple considerations of public health and dignity. So what’s with the U.S., Washington State, and these two cities? The ‘problem’ doesn’t go away–it just ends up being deposited in disturbing locations. City administration seriously needs to be on some kind of anti-schizoid medication…the community NEEDS all members, homeless or not, to use the proper receptacles for deposits.
